Legal expert: Devin Nunes is going to prison<\/h3>\n

For the better part of 2017, Congressman Devin Nunes has been acting guilty. He misused his role as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee to try to sabotage the committee\u2019s investigation into Donald Trump\u2019s Russia scandal. After his antics got him temporarily removed from the investigation, he launched his own rogue investigation aimed at clearing Trump. Now evidence is emerging that he was in on the Trump-Russia conspiracy from the start, and one respected legal expert says Nunes is going to prison for it.<\/h4>\n

Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe, who may be the foremost expert on the U.S. Constitution, stated his view on Twitter on Thursday evening Dec. 28, 2016:\u00a0 \u201cNunes is headed to federal prison.\u201d Tribe didn\u2019t expand on his specific legal reasoning, but it\u2019s not difficult to surmise what specifics he\u2019s referencing.<\/h4>\n

Donald Trump added Devin Nunes to his transition team in the hope of buttering him up so he would side with Trump once his committee\u2019s inevitable investigations into Trump\u2019s various crimes got underway. It\u2019s since been reported that when Michael Flynn was illegally conspiring with the Russians during the transition period, he was keeping the Trump transition team in the loop. It\u2019s also been reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has all of the Trump transition team emails. So if Nunes knew what Flynn was up to, Mueller has proof.<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

This would make Devin Nunes guilty of conspiracy against the United States. That consciousness of guilt would also help prove that Nunes\u2019 subsequent attempts at sabotaging the Trump-Russia investigation were in fact obstruction of justice. Nunes could try to cut a plea deal. But with bigger fish Michael Flynn having already cut a deal, it\u2019s not clear that Nunes would have anything of value to offer prosecutors.
