LOCK HIM UP LOCK HIM UP"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>RE:\u00a0 Environmental Protection Agency Administrator and Wrecker Scott Pruitt.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two years before Scott Pruitt was chosen to lead the Environmental Protection Agency that he wants to wreck, Fox 25, the Oklahoma City Fox affiliate, began seeking documents through the Freedom of Information Act relating to his\u00a0term as\u00a0Oklahoma\u00a0attorney general. In the process, the station <a href=\"http:\/\/okcfox.com\/news\/fox-25-investigates\/fox-25-investigates-ag-pruitt-potentially-using-private-email-for-state-business\">learned<\/a> that Pruitt had used a private server for some\u00a0emails he sent and received relating to official government business. Now the state attorney general\u2019s office <a href=\"http:\/\/okcfox.com\/news\/fox-25-investigates\/ags-office-confirms-pruitt-used-private-email-for-state-business\">has confirmed<\/a> that Pruitt\u00a0did, in fact, do this.<\/p>\n<p>Although it is illegal under federal law to use private email accounts for official government business, under Oklahoma law, using private email to conduct state business is not illegal\u00a0as long as those records are included in searches for public documents. However, during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Environment and Public Works committee,\u00a0Pruitt\u00a0testified that he didn\u2019t use\u00a0private email for state business:<\/p>\n<p>Senator Cory Booker, D-New Jersey, asked Pruitt directly, \u201cHave you ever conducted business using your personal email accounts, nonofficial Oklahoma Attorney General email accounts, text messages, instant messenger, voicemails, or any other medium?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI use only my official OAG [Office of the Attorney General] email address and government issued phone to conduct official business,\u201d Pruitt replied.<\/p>\n<h4>A flat-out lie. Or rather, <a href=\"http:\/\/fusion.net\/story\/384755\/pruitt-false-statement-under-oath-epa-hearing\/\"><em>another <\/em>flat-out lie.<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s the penalty for Republican officials who cover up their actions by lying\u00a0under oath? Taking back the keys to an agency that Pruitt has made clear he wants to wreck? No? Too harsh? How about a subpoena to come back, admit he lied and at least get a wrist-slap from the EPW committee? No?
